Album Review
Southern California native Crystal Lewis released her second album of hymns in fall 2002. Titled Holy, Holy, Holy, the release stands as one of Lewis' most powerful and innovative projects. Produced by Lewis and Jyro Xhan, each hymn features untraditional, cutting-edge arrangements. The project as a whole offers listeners contemporary instrumentation fitted to timeless lyrics. Songs include "His Eye Is on the Sparrow," "Great Is Thy Faithfulness," and the Lewis-penned track "Wisdom of Tenderness."

Really Weird Album . . .
. . . and I mean that in a good way. Crystal Lewis did traditional hymns with a twist. Some of the songs have an almost ambient vibe to them. I find these songs a perfect soundtrack to prayer and reflection. It is artistic and forward thinking, yet still accessible. My favorite tracks are Holy, Holy, Holy and Great is that faithfullness. I definitely recommend it.

I've alwayz loved C.L.& this disc really lets her voice, her gift out. I think too that a duet w/ Jon Gibson would be great !
The best of both worlds.
I'm a young person that loves hymns for their traditionalism and simple, yet profound messages. Crystal Lewis, with her strong and highly unique voice and styling manages to breathe new life into the oldest of classics, allowing listeners to see hymns through a modern lens. While it's perhaps normal to only sing hymns in church, this album makes enjoying hymns an anytime affair. I will definitely continue to listen to this album for years to come. Crystal's renditions of "There Is a Fountain" and "Jesus Paid It All" are my favourites, but each song is an inspiration. I have been listening to Crystal for years, but never saw this; but I thank God I found this album!
