not a snooze fest by any means...
I like Kevin Masch because his music is real & relevant. No matter the material, the emotion is raw, the energy is laid back & the sound is soothing. That's not to say his songs are a snooze fest in any way...his blues-rock, 'Fog on Glass' & patriotic 'Home' offer a well-balanced burst of energy to his set. 'Banks of the Ohio' pays homage not only to his home state but to the legends of Americana & Folk music that inspire him.
My favorites on the album are: 'City Lights', an emotional ballad that displays the true gift Kevin has as a singer/songwriter, 'Ballad of True Love', a look heartache & the pain you feel when you just let yourself go of the one you love & 'I'll Be', a song any girl would love to hear a guy sing for her. The unabashed declaration of 'I will be your man...if you'll be my woman' gives me chills every time I hear it.
(Visions of Cusack holding his boombox up high flash in my head if you know what I mean.)
Take a moment to listen to his music, you won't be disappointed.
A Complete Snoozefest
The only thing worse than poorley written songs is hearing them live. There are a lot of better options out there on iTunes. Save youre $10 for some better songwriters this guy is trying to imitate.
