I've been listening to this EP for a few months. I think I heard about Jenny O on twitter IDK. Here's the thing, I listen to tons of female singer songwriter music, and this is one of my favorites.
Her voice is so, well, sweet. The music is infectious, catchy, and each track is different from the rest.
It's only five tracks, and believe me, you will want more." Home" will take you to a happy place. Go there. Less than four bucks, heck thats cheaper than those anti-depressants you've been taking.
Weird release date
How could this be released on July 19, 2011 when today is July 15, 2011? She has a wonderful voice though and I definitely bought this EP.
Eclectic five-song mix
It's a good album. Initially I was going to buy "Won't Let You Leave"; then I heard "Well OK Honey" and thought, "Instead of buying two songs that will total around $3, why not just buy the whole album?" "Won't Let You Leave" has a folksy sound. There's a subtle use of strings as the song reaches its coda and it provides a nice backdrop to the acoustic guitar and Jenny O's voice without drowning them out. "Well OK Honey" is pretty upbeat, it's like an amalgamate of blues, pop and rock. The rest of the songs, with exception to "All My Wishes", Jenny's voice is barely legible and the instruments drown out her voice. All in all, it's a good album and would be a welcome addition to any music library.
