Burke's Excellent But the Music Isn't
Solomon Burke's voice is just so perfect that it's timeless but some of the music seems to be stuck in the eighties or nineties. While most of the songs are pretty good, not all of them are so if you're looking for a quinessential Burke album, this ain't it.

While Solomon Burke never made a major impact upon the pop audience — he never, in fact, had a Top 20 hit — he was an important early soul pioneer. On his '60s singles for Atlantic, he brought a country influence into R&B, with emotional phrasing and intricately constructed, melodic ballads and midtempo songs.
