Album Review

Hopeless Romantic is the Bouncing Souls' fourth studio album, and it maintains the group's standard of catchy, party-ready punk-pop. The more serious moments can come off as a bit emotionally underdeveloped, partly because of the band's penchant for dealing with problems using jokey, ironic detachment elsewhere. Still, too much seriousness would sink the record's fun party atmosphere, and ironic detachment is what the Bouncing Souls do best. The songs that will likely leave the greatest impression upon listeners' memories are the more exuberant, uptempo tracks like "Bullying the Jukebox" and "¡Olé!," sing-alongs so blatant that their simplistic catchiness borders on excessive. There's also "Wish Me Well (You Can Go to Hell)," a spoof of male/female duets that may be a little obvious but injects a bit of endearing self-deprecation.

This is a pretty damn good cd in general. Thats all i really have to say.

My Favorite

This is one of if not my all time favorite albums. It mixes great rocking and a gritty sound with great (not to mention utterly halarious) lyrics, which combine to form a truly wonderful album. A must have for any fan of punk rock.

Bouncing Souls Hopeless Romantic Album

I think that the Title track " Hopeless romantic" and "Fight to Live" as well as " Night on Earth " are some of the best songs on this album.

Upon graduation and after years of struggling to find a label to release their records, friends Greg Attonito (vocals), Pete Steinkopf (guitar), Bryan Kienlen (bass), and Shal Khichi (drums) got some money together and — in true D.I.Y. fashion — formed Chunksaah Records in 1993.
