it's a love song-- respect it

the beat is sick and it switches up. The flow is typical Kweli. it's not that fake song where the dude makes a song for the ladies and disrespects women in the process. it's still conscious. kweli ain't rhyming for YOU. and it's a good thing because dude can't do anything without folks scrutinizing while 50 cent and others can keep making negative music and get love. come on, hip hop heads!

What's with all the hatin'!

This is Excellent! I don't understand all of the low ratings. This is Talib at his finest! The production by Mr. Will.i.am is amazing also! So do yourself a favor and give this song a try. If you don't like the preview of the regular song, then at least get the instrumental. I've got both and i'm her to tell ya they're both worth it. I can't wait for that "Eardrum" comin' this summer!!!

Talib's done better

This is a really generic 'i've got a hot girl' song that is beneath a rapper of Talib Kweli's ability. His work with Mos Def is much better than this feeble attempt at main stream cross over. The beat isn't great for clubs and the rapping isn't really stuff you can bounce to. I'd call this one a miss.

If skills sold, Talib Kweli would have been one of the most commercially successful rappers of his time. As it was, however, the earnest MC became one of the most critically successful rappers of his time, which dawned in the late '90s when he rapped alongside Mos Def and DJ Hi-Tek as part of the group Black Star. This trio of up-and-comers and their widely acclaimed self-titled 1998 album debut, Black Star, helped make Rawkus Records one of the premier underground rap outposts of the late '90s....
