Not what I expected!

I was expecting a lot more rock like the last album, Another Journal Entry. But nobody said Barlowgirl was predictable. I was a little disappointed at first, but then when I really listened to the songs and their messages, I realized that Barlowgirl will not disappoint fans with this album. It is very deep and everything about this album is great. Here's what I think of the songs: 1. Song for the Broken- GREAT SONG! Expresses how much we need God in our lives and how he can heal our broken hearts. 2. I Believe In Love- I think it's one of their best songs! I like it even better than "Never Alone" and "I Need you to Love Me". It's a great song, and if you're just going to buy one song from this album, get this one. 3. Here's my life- Another awesome song. It has a great message with heartfelt lyrics and a good tune. This will affect audiences everywhere. 4. Keep Quiet- This one goes along with the title of this album "How can we be Silent". It's saying how the Barlowgirls want other people to say God through their lives and they want people to see that they are different even if they don't say the name "Jesus" all the time. 5. Million Voices- AWESOME. It says how we are a Christian revolution and that the world will remember that we were here. It's a great song!!! 6. Sweet Revenge- It says how un-sweet revenge really is. It's catchy and very true. 7. One More Round- It is a song like boxing. They are saying how they've been knocked down all these rounds and that they have never won a battle without God. It's a very fun, catchy, and as always, true, song. 8. Take my Chances- They talk about how they will not be silenced and how they are separate from the rest of the world because of their faith. They say that they are willing to be separate because if they don't talk about God, who will? 9. The Guy Song- Another older kind of song. It's catchy and fun. It’s not one of my favorites, but it's not bad. 10. I Don't Regret- Where do I start with this song?? It's perfect. They are saying how they can't explain how much God has done and how he has spoken to them because it is so indescribable. "And I'm not ashamed that it's you who holds my heart". That line says so much. I hope that line applies to all Christians. And if it didn't before this album, I hope it does now. Great CD, great band, great messages. You should buy this album. Simple as that.

3rd time's a charm!! LOVE IT.!!

dont listen to the people who say its " musically empty" my goodness.. they are amazing and each album just gets deeper and deeper. its not about the music its about the lyrics.. They lyrics are so powerful. I love how Barlowgirl writes and this cd is so great. I've only listened to it about once or twice thru cause i just got it.. but i mean i love it! I def. rate this 5 stars.! If your a BarlowGirl fan.. this will most def. live up to your expectations!!

How Can We Be Silent? (About this album too)

I am totally amazed. What a work God is doing in the lives of Alyssa, Becca, and Lauren Barlow. I love this CD. I sat for a while and just listened to the CD the day I got it (not singing along). Chills ran through my body! God's Spirit is totally in this music. This CD is beautiful musically and lyrically. Becca's guitar solos inspire me to keep learning how to play the guitar. Lauren's drumming is awesome. Alyssa's singing and mad bass skills rock! Otto, their producer, did a great job too. It is truly God-honoring. My personal favorite is "Here's My Life". It shows what has been on my heart for a long time, which is to trust God with my life. We can trust God with anything, a lesson that the BarlowGirls have learned and clearly displayed. I also like "Keep Quiet". It definitely reaches out to us shy public school kids. It tells us we can't back down from speaking Jesus' name just because it's politically incorrect and makes us embarassed. "Million Voices" is a rocker. Romans 12:1-2!!! Yes, and though this is their first attempt at it, their jazz song, "One More Round", is so strong. Lauren really sings it like she is in the middle of a boxing battle. If this is the only CD you buy all year, you will be satisfied. The enhanced CD is good too. It has an in-the-studio video and more. If it is not on i-tunes, please request it! BarlowGirl, you rock! Keep "playing like a girl", each one of you! You have definitely showed that you are here because of God and Him alone. Thanks for standing for purity, not dating, and giving God your lives! It is an encouracement to me everyday! :)
