Who Gets To Decide What Country Music is?
by Elitist BusterI played Jazz, Blues & Country for a living and the same elitist reviews comes up in every venue. This is a really talented group and they have the country flavor with a little pop feel but who cares? My favorite all time is Pasty Cline but she sang some tunes that were far from country but who cares! It seems the elitists are not just in Classical or Jazz but in country too. Who would have thought??

why not country?
by Mary1141414Sure this may not be as country as country used to be but it is sure still more country than anything else out there! I love my Charlie Daniels Band, my Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and I love Gloriana! If you think that by using y'all and ain't is going to make you sound more country then go right on ahead, maybe I'm the only one who thinks it sounds just a tad bit hickish, and Ahm from South Dakoter, where some people honestly think we still live in teepees! I also think that it's good that some country is getting classified as 'pop' because I know some people who used to say they hated country and now theyre getting into it, thanks to bands like Gloriana and all these poppy country singers/bands and it gets them into more deeper country, maybe getting into what some people think is true country. Ok, end of rant. :) <3 Country music.
