welcome back to the scene!

i like her new sound i guess...it seems like a lot of "old school" artists (if i can call her old school) go on hiatus, and then RIGHT when you start to wonder where they've gone, they come out with something fresh and totally different. like Joy Williams

Its got this 90's pop ballad vibe to it (which i love)...especially in Avalanche
and do i sense a little Jordin Sparks influence in All the Way Down? =)

while it's all well written--i just fear that her lyrics may have lost a little of the inspirational qualities that made her awesome.

It's still a good investment. Nice comeback Rachael. esp. All the Way down and Avalanche!

Finally, the long awaited album (or EP, close enough) is here...

Rachael Lampa could sing Row, Row, Row Your Boat and I would purchase it on Itunes. That being said, I actually love each of these songs. Maybe not the greatest or most current producing that I've ever heard, but she sounds great on all of them and they are all catchy! I'm so glad she's crossing into pop music too. In my opinion, she's up there with Mariah and Christina and needs to be heard! So help support her and buy this ep!

Confused...

Well...while I looked forward to this release, I don't have much to say about it... It's tough to type that considering I've been a huge fan since '99. While marketability decreased with later albums, so did album sales. As with "Human," the songs may be catchy, but I feel like I'm listening through my 90's catalog, not to mention confused as to where she's at musically. She's got the vocals to be a success, but it's all hidden behind poor production. I'll forever be a fan, but I expect better from an artist who's been on the scene for over a decade.
