An upside to downloads
I just happened to come across this at an I-tune suggestion. Truly one of the upsides to I-tunes is finding a collection of songs or an artist you would never had found before. Nothing groundbreaking here but is enticing and haunting enough to make you pause. Buy a couple of songs and then come back for more.
Not to be missed
The Finches have created a lovely, whimsical sound that is quirky enough to quiet my gag reflex. Endearing but not overly sweet, Carolynn's voice brings to mind your freckled childhood friend with mismatched socks. Check out Lay, Goettingen, Du and Leviathans Home!.
Truly Great
Riggs' voice is perfectly flawed, enchantingly beautiful. Underlying these simple acoustic melodies is a subtle complexity that ranges from joyful to haunting. The end of the album brings about the feeling of lying eyes open in the dark, having just woken from a beautiful dream, and wanting nothing more than to fall back asleep.
