SO GOOD
Typhoon is one of the best bands out there. They will explode in a few years, without a doubt.
Gorgeous, gorgeous music
Typhoon is a remarkable band out of Portland, Oregon who have built a reputation over the last five years as one of the very best unsigned acts in the indie music capitol of the world. Live, the band fluctuates between about 8-12 players on stage, incorperating strings, brass and household items like a collander or plastic bag, in addition to multiple guitars, drum kits and electric bass. The whole band also sings giving many songs a beautiful choral quality. They're known for the amazing dynamic range this arrantgment can produce, shifting from the quiet intimacy of a a single voice an guitar to a wall of sound in an instant. Hunger and Thirst plays on this expectation, creating a tension in many songs between the quieter moments and an anticipated explosion of music. The writing, the story telling is beautiful and heartaching and Typhoon has never been captured in a recording so expertly. Buy this records, you will not regret it.
I've been waiting so long...
For this record. its truly a thing of beauty. You would have to be a commie not to like this record. Strings, horns, drums, guitars, a choir of voices...simply amazing. Believe the hype.
