A step above, a leap beyond!
This album speaks to the listener from the opening track. Delaney's singing is truly one of a kind and with the production on this album and the background she's had, it's going to be a smash hit! Our "family" favorite song is "La Di Da". A happy, upbeat, and catchy tune. This song is one that you won't forget! Her last album delivered her to the world on a platinum platter and the follow up "Hurricanes and Forget Me Nots" is sure to please.

This has been a long time coming
Delaney Gibson has outdone herself with a very mature and content-filled sophomore album offering with Hurricanes and Forget Me Nots. With many second albums I have experienced you have that catchy single that gets you to buy the album, and not too much past that; I dare you to find that 'one' catchy single. This album, track after track, has a clever chorus, an infectious beat, and lyrics dripping with substance. Just go down the list from "paper boats", "La Di Da", "Mexico", "New Year's Eve", "Good Company", etc., are all songs you could hum all day and not tire of...I heard "Kill Me Now", Live, something like six months ago and it never went away. I love this album because you get to hear Delaney, who generally performs solo, with what amounts to a full band supporting her and singing with her. The production and mastering is great while not being so much that it is distracting, you get to hear Delaney's incredible voice that has given me goosebumps on more than one occasion, so I am glad we let her pipes do the leg work. I might suggest this to you if you like a Regina Spektor, Norah Jones, or Ingrid Michaelson mixed with a little Kate Nash for some spunk. Look up her first album, "The Worst Way" for more of her work, just as fun an album as this one, though the maturity comes through in this album very clearly as she has grown since her first album. Delaney Gibson is an amazingly talented singer/songwriter with an album that matches and surpasses her first offering and was worth the wait...if only to get "Kill Me Now" out of my head...now it's "Good Company".
