Orbs of Canada !

A perfect mix between that 1970ish Boards of Canada mindset and mid 90's Orb sound. Truely mind numbing composition!! The Albulm should be labled Drugs For Your Ears !

Peace

This album is incredible. These sounds deliver warm, ambient rhythms that let you drift off into other perspectives. Hydroponic Garden is the perfect soundtrack for heading down a desolate highway, or lying alone on cloudy days. If you're interested in buying the entire album, I would recommend purchasing the actual CD, where every track flows together smoothly, unlike the iTunes version which has short pauses between each song. Either way, this is definitely a five star work of art.

Sublimated yearning in your ear!

As the years go by I get more critical selecting 'good' music from 'bad', or at least what moves me. That makes this find a gem! Cool yet passionate and exalted, their pallete drenches you with a complex structure that still finds room for layered rhythms and beats without becoming defined by them, showing a serious maturity in their efforts that, unlike several of my favorite artists, hasn't gotten pretentious and 'over my head'. If I had to make some comparisons, I might breed FSOL's complex pastiche of worldly samples with Sean Washburn's deep-space-cathedral, have it midwifed by Electric Skychurch, and this would be the good-looking son! (as a composer I keep, for some reason, midwifing the ugly sons :) Darker than Ulrich Snauss, but by no means evil sounding, this is one of those rare albums that i can play from start to finish and enjoy every song. At least 4 or 5 are real keepers, and even after maybe a dozen listens, I still got chills tonight when 'Artificial Island' cracked open to reveal the heavenly abyss. (Sorry if my english bad, I was raised in America and never had proper instruction..:)
