HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

Alan Cumming is essentially re-writing the idea of cabaret. Imaging showtunes with teeth. This album is the same program he did at Lincoln Center for the Great American Songbook series. A great album. The highlight is Lance Horne's beautiful "Don't Tell Me".

What can't Alan do?!!

This record is amazing. I have always been a big Alan Cumming fan but I was a little wary about him dipping his toe into the album world. There have been too many good actors who have tried to do this and ended up with egg all over their faces. But Alan totally pulls it off. The songs are eclectic and surprising, the band is brilliant and Alan sounds.....himself. You can hear him smile, he is cheeky, emotional, vulnerable, sexy. I was blown away. You could play this album at a cocktail party, you could give it to your mom AND your nephew AND your gay best friend as a holiday gift (unless you've already bought them something from his fragrance line that is)!! I mean really?! What doesn't this guy do?

One Sexy Scotsman!

What I love about this album is that you feel like you're hearing him in concert. He's SO expressive, and funny and honest on this album. I reccomend this album to everyone who doesn't just listen to music as background but people who ENJOY listening to music. Because you'll enjoy this album. :)
And my god Alan has got a sexy voice!

This is stop one. Next stop, recording the entire production of Hedwig!
