An excellent reprise of an excellent album

Having been pretty much blown away by David Cloyd's debut album, "Unhand Me, You Fiend," I was eager to hear what he would create to follow it up. "I Could Disappear" is a reexamination of that fantastic first album, in which David removes much of the studio effects that were applied to the songs, and we get a chance to hear them in a more straightforward, unfettered, and intimate setting. It's excellent, and it's a testament to David's songwriting abilities, not to mention his savvy when it comes to album production, that although the flavor of the album is quite different from "Unhand Me, You Fiend," the songs have as much life and movement as they did before: they're just as thoughtful and melodic, and the emotions conveyed by David's vocals are every bit as rich. Depending on your ear, with this album, you may even hear more musical art where there seems to be less studio production with these arrangements.

"I Could Disappear" is an album that I recommend to anyone who liked "Unhand Me, You Fiend," which is an album I have recommended to a great number of people. I have listened to it many times, I know I will listen to it many more times, and I'm glad to have the chance to listen to it in a different setting. I'm really looking forward to hearing more of David's original songs in the future: the music world needs artists like him.

Bottom line, two thumbs up. Check out this album, and while you're at it, get "Unhand Me, You Fiend" if you don't already have it. You'll be very glad you did!

Love this album

If this is the first time you're listening to David Cloyd- I also highly suggest Unhand Me, You Fiend! as well. The style on this album is very sincere and endearing, I absolutely loved "Come Out Wherever You Are" on Unhand Me, and love it even more on I Could Disappear- the piano on it sounds insane. She Asks Me- such a good song, one of my favorites. Really great artist.

David Cloyd Strikes Back

This is lean, mean, and powerful. The trappings of Unhand Me You Fiend are amazing, and the absence of them on this companion album are equally so. It feels like you're in the room with him for these performances. Having discovered him only last year, I'm thankful for such a musical sophomore effort from Cloyd, instead of the disappointment so many follow-up albums can be. Simply put: promise realized.
