Growing into maturity.
I have followed Bill Leeb and Rhys Fulber for a long time; since middle school in fact, when I found the industrial odyssey "Implode." Through the years, the two drifted apart, growing in their own unique methods to express the sonic worlds they muse. While I love Leeb, and I certianly feel that I.E.D. was his best yet; I feel that Fulber has grown the most, becoming a wonderful composer. On his myspace, he describes Conjure One as ambient, existential electronics. Let's just say that this album hints at what is nothing more than exactly that: existential electronics. The atmospheric effects that are used, the strings, the Jean-michel Jarre style of "Places', you can't get any better. With his initial solo release with Conjure One (self titled), we saw more of a Delerium sound, which I liked. With Extraordinary Ways, Fulber was honing in on what was to be his sound. Now with Exilarch, he has found it. Beautifully haunting electronics, strings, and messages of such depth they remind me of Brendan Perry of the late, extraordinary, Dead Can Dance. This is a great single and I am eagerly anticipating the next single due out soon called "Ice." I highly recommend it, that is, if you are a fan of existential electronics...
I'm so disappointed
I love the other albums but this is just disappointing. It sounds dated and well I hate to say but like that ambient music you get at a kiosk in your connivence store. So sad :-(
Its good
I am a big fan. And track 6 and 7 are great. Track 6 is totally jean-micheal-jarre style. Excellent....and looking forward to the Album!
