Up Your Alley returned Jett to the pop Top Ten with the catchy, crunching rocker "I Hate Myself for Loving You."..A cover of Chuck Berry's "Tulane"...matches the single's energy, and the Desmond Child collaboration "Little Liar" was a minor follow-up hit...

Joan Jett is my rock goddess
by jgoldbloomCombine nasty guitar, the original sneer long before Billy Idol thought to do so and a sweetness underneath it all, you've got the legendary Joan Jett and the Blackhearts. In the modern day of over sampling, digital effects and huge stadium extravaganzas - how utterly refreshing to listen to some good old fashioned American kick you in the rear rock and roll. With attitude, and also with talent. This is a must buy album due to the remastering which is clean, pitch perfect and extremely pleasurable when the volume is pumped. The way this music should be heard, as if you're in a club or small arena and standing right next to the stage with a beer in hand. The cut "Desire" is a personal favorite of mine, a familiar beat common to many BH songs, but Jett extends herself vocally on this one. Another cut worth downloading, which I feel is a classic, is "Little Liar" which is melodramatic, intense and involves some excellent changes between each chorus. On a side note I look forward to seeing the movie about the early days of The Runaways, due out in 2010, when they literally ruled the world (especially in Japan during the first crazy world tour of a youthful girl band still in their teens) circa 1977-1978. Make a mental note, fans.
