From one of the best albums of the year

I have been playing the clean version of the full album "In The Ruff" that Oddisee released, and it easily one of the best hiphop albums of the year. Oddisee's production is stellar, as usual, but the congruous harmony of the album is perhaps some of his best yet; his versatility (see the Odd Summer EP) seems beautifully restrained here, aiming for a more gritty, cohesive sound. Even the guest production has this feel. Regarding the rhymes, all three emcees step to the plate with their own unique styles, reflecting their respective backgrounds from the titular locale. This is truly an achievement that deserves WAY more attention than its getting. Definitley check out the mini-documentary available online - it gives you more appreciation for what they set out too accomplish - and how masterfully they accomplish it. Hip Hop Lives.

Diamond District "In the Ruff" is the Top Album of 2009

Oddisee + X.O. + YU = Diamond District.
"The Listening" of 2009.

Oddisee produces a true Hiphop classic!

"Chin Up, Back Staright, Check My Shoulders, Remember What I Told Ya, I'm A Soldier" = Oddisee as the best emcee/producer in the game today.
