Great
Great album. Im really feeling this album. I stayed up until midnight to buy it on itunes.. Keep doing you Jenny..
Save your money
This album is mediocre at best. The first CD was a killer this is just filler. She needed a CD and she made one but it is not her best work and just doesn't grab me like the first CD did. I was hoping to see some evolution in her content but not so much. I wouldn't buy it...as a matter of fact I wouldn't take it if it were free. Love J Hud but this just aint poppin.

Let me preface by saying that I was NOT a Jennifer Hudson fan when she was on "American Idol" , nor during the "Dreamgirls" promotion and subsequent Academy Award win. I admit that she is a talented force and has a great voice, I just felt she had a "Holier Than Thou" attitude that made her seem stuck up and angry all the time.
Her first album had about 4 good songs on it and was bogged down by what seemed to be an identity crisis. I couldn't help but to wonder wether she was picking the music or having it fed to her by the label execs, as it was hodgepodge mix of Pop ("Spotlight"), Hip Hop ("Pocketbook"), R&B ("I'm His Only Woman") AC ("You Pulled Me Through") and Gospel ("Jesus Promised Me A Home Over There"). And while I understand the appeal to many demographics the album left me cold.
Enter "I Remember Me" and it's a whole new ballgame. Jennifer lost weight and appears to have also shed the angry attitude that turned me off of her. In addition to the weight loss, she tragically lost family members, got married, had a baby and out of those ups and downs seemed to have realized what is important to her. She has never sounded better and the tracks she recorded fit her like a glove. "I Remember Me" is my favorite and perfectly sums up what she has been through. "Still Here" is no doubt a tribute to her late mother, brother, and nephew and her cover of Brooks & Dunn's "Believe" leaves me gasping for air, as it's heavenly.
I am so loving the new Jennifer Hudson these days!
