Elaine Lachica was born in Baltimore, MD, the daughter of the choir director and organist of the Baltimore Basilica. She first showed an interest in music at the age of three, singing and playing piano and violin. She was a voice student at the Peabody Conservatory of Music and the Royal College of Music in London.
