Customer Reviews
What. Just. Happened.
That was INSANE... Iconoclast completely destroyed my expectations. Massive tone, Epic composition, Technical detail, Mad riffs, Powerful rhythm, and yes, Russell Allen (i.e. Flawless vocals). What else do you need? Nothing--that's what. I highly recommend this album. Iconoclast is absolutely worth 10 bucks.
More of the same, but still good!
I've listened to the album about 6 times now. Basically my general impression is that this sounds exactly like Paradise Lost. Too much in fact. I loved that album, but I can't help feel some of these new songs on Iconoclast are using riffs that are very similar and give me a feeling of "been here, done that"... I think this is a great album and there's a LOT of music on here, but that spark of genius I usually feel when listening to a new SX album is absent. I also miss the piano and soft interludes woven throughout their songs. These days, SX either give you a melt your face metal song or a ballad that eventually melts your face when it gets heavy toward the end. I miss the dynamic movements that make them so special. Maybe I'm getting older, but it just feels like their trying to cater to the teenager crowd who just want heavyness and screaming.
This may sound like a negative review, but I still think they're great. I'm just ready for the next evolution in their sound I guess.

This is actually too good. Too... Good... :L
