When Jurassic Five signed to a major label, it didn't signal the end of an era, it meant a new life and a new direction for this L.A. crew. Their growth, both musical and personal, is evident on Power of Numbers. "If You Only Knew" shows what J-5 does so well-voices rhyming in tandem and solo-espousing knowledge and superior content superimposed over a fluttering piper. Big things were on their mind on songs such as "Freedom," "Remember His Name," and "I Am Somebody." A strong follow-up to their debut, Quality Control.

Hip-Hop done right
Most hip-hop you hear these days is bullshiit, but not this, this alternative hip-hop stuff is sweet. A Tribe Called Quest, Mos Def, and Jurassic 5 are my favorite hip-hop groups ever. This genre can be great when mixed with jazz and this is a fine example. The jazz influences are heavy in this album and there is also some funk thrown in too. This is one of the greatest hip-hop albums you can find. Keep holdin' on to What's Golden.
J-5 is back!
J-5 kicks it up a notch with Power in Numers from their original album Quality Control. Pay attention to songs like What's Golden and High Fidelity because they sure as hell aren't going anywhere.
