Genres collide with this extremely creative and fresh album.

Take Sonic Youth, the Beastie Boys, the Prodigy, and some Australian accents, mix them together and you've got the Bumblebeez. Extremely distorted techno punk hip-hop would be the best way to describe this odball band, consisting of a brother-sister duo. This album may sound to some a confusing mess of whining guitars and yelling, but keep listening, it may grow on you. To those who truly appreciate this sort of creative music, you are in for a treat. The highlight of this album for me was towards the end of Bambino, when banging drums and looping "Woo-hoo's" transform into sirens and fuzzy synths creating a beat, while Queen Vila raps. This is how music should be. Art.

Yummy and infectious

There is really no way to decribe this album except yummy and infectious. It is like Jon Spencer mated with the Gorillaz and gave birth to some urban experimental prodigy. Fabulous beats with a distorted, almost lo-fi feel at times. I want to throw a party just to be able to listen to this album, drink, dance, and flirt. "I Come with Water," "Pony Ride" and "Come Ova" should not be missed. In short, freakishly good.

Not to be confused with the children's music artists of the same name, the Bumblebeez (known in the U.S. as Bumblebeez 81) hail from Braidwood, a small town in Australia's New South Wales territory, and craft a cut'n'paste collision of noisy hip-hop and rock. Producer/singer/multi-instrumentalist Chris Colonna is the architect of the Bumblebeez's raw sound, although his sister Pia (aka Queen ViLa) often contributes raps and backing vocals and his best friend Surya plays bass and guitar.
