Album Review

An expanded version of the Rak Very Best of Kim Wilde released in 1985, EMI's version adds on to her post-1984 best including her only American Top 40 hit, "You Keep Me Hangin On" (which reached Number One in 1987). Beginning with her chart debut, 1981's "Kids in America," Very Best of Kim Wilde compiles most but not all of her hits; "Say You Really Want Me" isn't found here, though "You Came" and "If I Can't Have You" are present. One fan favorite that did make the cut is "Cambodia," her odd, chilling attempt to record a dirge for Southeastern Asia.
