The first band to do it right?
Ok, ok, we're all a little sick of the whole "80's in every genre" movement as of late, but MY LORD; This album makes me feel like I've been stabbed and don't even know it yet! Unabashed. Incredible. This album looks, feels, and sounds like the best in eighties European super-groupdom (think Alphaville at the peak, kids) but is totally new, since most of us youngsters don't actually remember a time when bands like Oingo and Alphaville were young enough to take seriously. This album sounds fantastic; everproduced, yet some of it sounds like it might actually BE indie rock...no that was done in the studio too? OK! Anyway, I recomend it, and if American Radio were to get a hold of this, there might be a bit of a dance revolution.

As soon as i heard "Sex City" i noticed it had the same words, and similar music to back it up as Crystal Castles' "Vanished." Since this band is called "Van She," it's quite ironic that Crystal Castles did a cover and called it "VANiSHEd." See the irony? :) But anyways, this EP is incredibly danceworthy, my butt was wiggling in my chair the entire time. :) Give Crystal Castles a listen, you'd like them too, maybe.
I Heart Van She
"Authentically 80s" might be a contradiction in terms, but Van She nails it with the one-two slap of Mission and Sex City. Pillowy hard synth, whispery lyrics...and any time there's a girl named Kelly lookin' in a mirror, you have the decade dear prudence forgot.
