Another solid album from a legend

Ace returns with the follow-up to the 2001 classic Disposable Arts, A Long Hot Summer. Plot-wise, Long Hot is actually the prequel to Disposable and tells how he ended up in jail in the first place. This is a sharp, witty underground release that sees Ace rapping at his best and the production, handled by mid-level names like 9th Wonder, Khrysis, Croatia and Dug Infinite, is just barely a cut below that of Disposable. The best cuts are Good Ol' Love, Da Grind, Beautiful and Do It Man, although I strongly recommend this concept album be heard in its entirety. This record was lost a bit in the shuffle of what was a great year for hip hop releases in 2004, but its a great addition to Ace's already stellar catalogue. This one is probably not for fans of pop hooks and candy beats.

Searching for my Brooklyn Masala

I bought Disposible Arts with out know who masta ace was. As soon as i got done with listening to it, i came and grabed a long hot summer. I have never replayed a cd more. after and after i was addicted to the story throughout the disc. Each track has a beat and lyrics that fit so ryhmicaly. Masta Ace sets this disc up like DA as a story.Stand out tracks for me where, Good Ol Love, Beautiful, Brooklyn Masala( great story about this chick), Travelocity with punch&words, The Ways. Take a risk and check masta ace out.

Classic

Masta Ace puts together a very witty, clever undergound release, great Beats, Superb lyrics this album is the full package if you love hip hop I mean the REAL Hip Hop, check this and all the rest of Masta Aces Albums out he is one of the realist cats out there and most of you fools havent even heard of him. If you havent heard of this genius check him out you'll be glad you did....
