A Must Listen!
Previously, I hadn't heard of this artist at all. Then one day, my friend was playing a CD on a car and 6:57AM (track 2) came on. I instantly fell in love with the piano and soft singing in the song. This is TONE's debut album, and VERY impressive for his first album. I highly recommend it, each song sounds good in its own way and style. My favorites are 6:57AM and The Deepest Heart, they're both great songs with emotion. Don't know why he doesn't have more exposure in Taiwan. A must listen!!!
Great Sound
Tone is doing a stint at San Jose State, and I think his exposure to American university life has given his music an accessibility to western listeners. I don't understand Mandarin, but it really doesn't matter. This is such an enjoyable listen: layered, trancy in places, excellent vocals--it spends a lot of time coming through my speakers! Give the samples a try--don't miss 6:57am--and you'll have an idea of how great this set is.
This is serious music! Both music and lyrics
This guy is making some serious music! Every song is a winner. It not like those commercial pops. Listen to it and you will find there are so many messages. This guy's composing ability is no less than any other well-known artists such as Jay Chow or Leehom or David Tao, at least in my own opinion. My favorite song is Shui Ni Ai Qing and Taipei Station. Check it out and compare yourselves.
