Album Review

Chilliwack's sound harnesses a smooth, semi-hard rock feel that is spotlighted by Bill Henderson's fly-away vocals, on top of some light keyboard work sprinkled in the background. With nine albums under their belt, this greatest-hits album fuses all of their best songs in one place and makes for a truly solid package. Their biggest hit, "My Girl (Gone Gone Gone)" is one of the most enjoyable tunes here, along with the beautiful "I Believe" and the lonely sounding "Fly at Night." The pace is sped up a bit on songs like "Don't Stop" and "Whatcha Gonna Do," helping to balance out the lighter material. Henderson's voice is pleasing to the ear and is the soul of this group. Some of the lesser-known tracks on this album, like "Rain-O" and "Getting Better," hold their own, and round out a sincerely delightful collection.

I'll give it 3 stars just because of "My Girl (Gone, Gone Gone)"

I searched the internet high and low for a month trying to find this song because I didn't remember the name of this band! I only remembered that they were Canadian, the band's name began with the letter C and that the song was from approximately 1982 give or take a year. I'd even searched iTunes a number of times to no avail. All of a sudden a Google search of "my girl 1982" turned up the name of the band! (I never would've remembered the name "Chiliwack"!) Well...to rate the music...other than "My Girl"....the song I really love...this album has a few okay songs done in the typical fashion of the early 1980's...but nothing to write home about. Certainly nothing to make yourself crazy searching the internet for! If you want a good song to take you back to the '80's download track #4, "My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone) and have a listen to the others in case something floats your boat.

I am a happy camper today!!

I've been looking for "My Girl" forever!! I've had the opening hook in my mind for DECADES and could not remember the rest of the song, the name or the band. Today on one of the 80's radio stations on Itunes, it popped up. I was so happy. I immediately came here to purchase the song. It is catchy and fun!!

Leave it to ITunes!

Since I was in grade school 30+ years ago, listening without fail to Casey Kasem on AT40 every Sunday, I have never forgotten the song ("My Girl") or the band name (kinda distinct, don'tcha think?), but I was never able to find anything- until now. On top of finding "My Girl", as soon as I saw the title "Watcha Gonna Do", THAT song rushed back from my memory as well!
