iTunes Review

LCD Soundsystem lives in the space where electro disco bleeds into capitol-R rock and everyone dances gleefully. Sound of Silver finds leader James Murphy and band (more involved as players than they were on LCD's previous self-titled disc, which was largely a Murphy solo joint) tightening it up in a self-knowing style. From the opening demand to "Get Innocuous!" to the twisted patriotism of "North American Scum," Murphy proves an ironically raised eyebrow can exist as one point on a full emotional continuum. And, as on the previous album's lovely "Comfortably Numb" homage "Never As Tired As When I'm Waking Up," the Friends-era Brian Wilsonisms on "Someone Great" go a long way toward proving that the guy's doing a lot more than just showing off what a cool album collection he has. Add this one to yours, and it automatically takes its own step up.

LDC SOUNDSYSTEM.

Only the second review? Haha, since 2007? That was a good year in music. (Radiohead). Anyway, most electronic albums are quite annoying and random. LDC SOUNDSYSTEM is more thought out. "This Is Happening" I fancy more. Although this was a excellent creative album.

Amazing Album

When I found this album a couple of years ago it was like a breath of fresh air, the best new music I'd discovered in a long time. James Murphy wears his love for Talking Heads on his sleeve here without sounding like a copycat. This is "Stop Making Sense" for the new millennium and I urge any one who likes that classic album to give this one a listen, and anyone who likes this one to check out the Talking Heads.

LCD more like LSD

heard North American Scum in Step Brother and went from there! Its great

LCD Soundsystem debuted with "Losing My Edge," a single that became one of the most talked-about indie releases of 2002. A self-effacing spoof of the outrageous p*****g contests that often occur whenever music geeks cross paths ("I was there at the first Can show in Cologne," etc.) laid over a puttering electronic beat with the occasional bursts of discoid clatter, the track was also one of the first released on the DFA label.
