iTunes Review

Like fellow sonic quester Money Mark on his Brand New By Tomorrow, Tokyo’s Cornelius puts acoustic guitars to nice use on his fifth studio album, Sensuous. Unlike Mark’s extended dive into singer-songwriterism, though, the skills Cornelius displays on the quiet title track and “Kings Folk” only occasionally bleed into the rest of the album. Elsewhere, Cornelius delivers grooves with a minimal set of elements — scratchy electric guitar, drums, keyboard — on “Fit Song” (which advises: “Hip. Hop. Drop.”) and pays revved-up tribute to Stereolab on “Gum.” Several interludes demonstrate just how playful the artist’s musical sense can get, with the 90-second “Toner” building an entire tiny opus around automotive sound effects. The overall effect is avant-pop with an undeniably summery touch.

yet another masterpeice

Every album cornelius puts out has it's own unique sound. This one overall is more downtempo than his previous ones while still having it's upbeat tracks like "Gum" and "Beep It". You will find his songs such as "Omstart" and "Sleep Warm" to be on the softer and more reflective side. As with all Cornelius albums, the whole CD takes you on a journey from start to finish which always makes it enjoyable to just play the whole CD straight through.

CORNELIUS!

Sheer brilliance from the man who always seems to be one step ahead of everyone else. For devoted Cornelius fans you won't be disappointed and for new, there truly is no substitute for the deftness with which he crafts all of his music. Truly unique and, as always, simply beautiful. Cornelius is the future of music.

WOW!

Think pop / atmospheric psychedelic rock / electronic drum programming . The reuslts are catchy, completely unique and very accesible to a wide audience. Highly recomended. Just as good as previous albums
