The best Small Brown Bike album

In my opinion this is THE best Small Brown Bike album they put out. Great songs with awesome instrumentals, awesome Lyrics, awesome vocals, awsome production. All around A+ album. If you download any SBB album make sure its this one.

cumulatively their best

i have to agree 100% with the other guy posting reviews on this album. sure; every SBB album is insanely awesome in it's own respects (yes, even 'the river bed', i thought, was still good), but i don't think any of them quite acheive the rank that 'dead reckoning' puts forth. for one: they went to ed rose to record this. if you don't recognize the name; ed rose is the guy who recorded the SBB/casket lottery split and the new able baker fox CD (in the recording industry, from who i know, he's considered to have some of the best drum EQs out there). ultimately, this CD sounds amazing. the lyrics, music, drum beats, and overall EQ are spot on. both guitars are separate from each other - expressing a 2 guitarist band - while still playing parts that don't confuse each other or seem unrealistic in a live setting. ben and mike reed continue to bleed out gravelly vocals somehow related to tom waitts, even though they may sound nothing alike. i think what i personally loved about this CD was how 'dark' it was. there are riffs in some of these songs that are just down-right haunting; giving the whole album this certain feel to it. if you wanted to DL one track, i'd either tell you do choose 'see you in hell' (featuring nathan ellis from the casket lottery towards the song's end) or 'more or less' (one i personally really liked). either way; if you're a SBB fan in any way and haven't heard this album, i think you might just experience the best day of your life. RIP SMALL BROWN BIKE

Formed: 1996 in Marshall, MI

Genre: Alternative

Years Active: '90s, '00s

Growing up together in Marshall, MI, the members of Small Brown Bike have been friends, bandmates, and minor bike mechanics the majority of their lives. When brothers Mike and Ben Reed (vocals/guitar and bass/vocals, respectively), Travis Dopp (guitar), and Dan Jaquint (drums) were looking for band names for the project they started in the fall of 1996, they looked back on their collective small-town childhood and came up with Small Brown Bike, named for a sentimental Frankenstein bicycle that they...
