Awesome new brazilian artist!
I saw 2 shows of Alexandre when I was in Sao Paulo, at NaMata Cafe and the songs played live sound even better. One of the shows Seu Jorge joined the band to sing 'Amanha Eu Nao Vou Trabalhar', awesome! 'Curta', 'Passar por mim' and 'Beautiful Maria' are also great. Definetely one of my favourites of the new brazilian music.
Funky New Brazilian!
This is a seriously funky album from Brazil that combines the aesthetics of other soul/samba artists like Curumim and Seu Jorge (not his stuff from The Life Aquatic, however) with a slight Hip-Hop twist. Seu Jorge even guests on the title track, "Amanhã Eu Não Vou Trabalhar" (Tomorrow I'm Not Going to Work). "Curta (Sempre a Noite)" and "Mulher Malvada" are also great tracks. The whole album definitely worth checking out. You won't be disappointed even if you don't understand a lick of Brazilian Portuguese.
