Coeur Fidèle
With Coeur Fidèle, Zack digs deep into French North American lore and delivers a new collection of great songs about crawfish, Jack Kerouac, Jesus, strippers and the old voyageurs or coureurs des bois paddling across the continent. The production on this album is superb. The songs are well crafted and hypnotic. Check out Massachussets, Zack's deep into the night song about Franco American writer Jack Kerouac. Joe Féraille is an ominous tale of hanging in Marais Bouleur. Jésus en Arrière speaks of a 55 Chevrolet Bel Air, poutine, Elvis and life in Acadian New Brunswick. Also: Zack re-intepreting is raw ballad Réveille thirty years later, with a strong vocal performance and a wall of guitar wizardry in the background. A superb album!
