Downsyde is back!
Even a year later, I still can't go a day without hearing Downsyde's last album, All City. This time around, Downsyde has ditched some of the more upbeat hip-hop tempos, and stuck to a grittier more old-school sound. The crunchy beats and richer lyrics give Downsyde a whole new attitude, that fans of the last album may find a hard time getting used to. But utlimately,they will. This album is superb. The Aussies know how to make some killer stuff. I'd highly recommend this album, to any hip-hop/rap fan.

The founding members of Downsyde, Scott Griffiths and Shahbaz Rind — better known by their MC names Optamus and Dyna-mikes — got their start young. At age 16 they were throwing suburban hip-hop parties in their home of Perth and in 1996 they entered a local talent quest. Their hometown fans were dedicated, so much so that their first recording, a demo on cassette called Behind the Bucket, managed to sell all of the 200 copies they made within weeks.
