The Whistler by Dan Neufeld
A friend turned me onto Dan and his music very recently. I must say this CD captured me with the honesty of each performance. The Whistler, a/k/a Dan Neufeld, uses his whistle the way a great singer caresses each lyric and each note. Over The Rainbow has never been a particular favorite of mine...until I heard this version! Round Midnight...whistled? You better believe it. Also love Beyond The Sea, My Funny Valentine...and how can you not get a lump in your throat after hearing this version of Danny Boy?...Laura, Hands down, the most magical album to come down the pike in ages. I'm thinking of buying a few for Christmas gifts.
Whistler
This is one of the most beautiful and soothing records I have ever listened too. I thought whistling came natuarlly and easily. Not so with these songs. Dan Neufeld truly takes the art of whistling these great old standards to a totally new level.
