Before the release of Blessings, Laura Story’s husband was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Her faith tested but not shaken, Story wanted to release a set of songs about worshipping God even through tough times. The result is a collection of worn and broken worship songs, testifying to God’s faithfulness in the storm. The title song is powerful in its declaration that sometimes God’s blessings may not come in the form we expect. The rest of the album is similarly inspirational and honest.
