a live look at a great artist
i have been following katy pfaffl for many years and her first two albums were great, but she is a terrific live performer and here you get a feel for what katy is like in front of a packed house. do not miss the songs believe me, dirty little secret.. they are great songs. take a listen, katy's voice invites you in and her lyrics will speak to your heart.
Stays in You
Katy Pfaffl is as amazing as they come. I feel speechless when talking about her talent and what it feels like to sit in a room and hear her sing. The songs on this album showcase a range of her talent. From "Down the River" which might, at moments, fool you into thinking you're listening to Katy cover a Joni Mitchell song, to the playful "Let it Go" (the beauty of a live recording!) which makes me want to dance around at home or share with my friends, to "Dirty Little Secret" which will quite honestly "wow" you with its progression and movements. Honestly...she's THIS GOOD live...how could you NOT buy this album?! Do yourself a favor, and get it, and trust me, you will thank yourself that one day you find yourself listening to her in your car and you sit there, stunned, like I have, many a time.
Makes you feel like you were there!
I was lucky enough to be in the audience on the night that Katy recorded this special live album but if I wasn't, this album would certainly make me feel like I was. Katy Pfaffl is an insanely talented musician and I've been waiting a long time for her to release a live album. Recorded on January 17th, 2006 at the Knitting Factory in NYC, this album takes you on the journey of life... love, laughter, tears, heartbreak, and redemption. Katy's powerful voice sails into the sky as she bangs away on the piano and guitar (she plays violin, too!) throughout this concert. Her incredibly talented band is not to be missed, either. Highlights for me would be the bouncy "Let It Go", the crowd pleaser "Dirty Little Secret", and the sweet and flirty "Two Apples". Two cover songs are also standouts here: "River" (Joni Mitchell) and "Waiting On an Angel" (Ben Harper). A truly brilliant live recording by the best kept secret in music: Katy Pfaffl. Remember the name... she's gonna be huge.
