This band is clearly on a level of intensity not commonly seen in very many bands, let alone a local act out of the good graces of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Their particular blend of death metal measures up to such titans as Origin, Necrophagist, Behemoth, The Red Chord, Between the Buried and Me, and others. Shaun and Jake's guitar work is as precise as Mengele's scalpel; Sam's drumming is second to none (and has been featured on sickdrummer.com); Joe's bass techniques keep him eye level with Shaun and Jake's intenisty; and Steve's vocals rip through the fabric of your soul. Aggresive, non-stop, and full of rage, this album stands alone as a triumph of this great and up-and-coming local band, and a great leap for death metal. Do a favor for yourself and the local scene by purchasing this album, and supporting the local scene. If 'If Only Minds Could Paint Pictures' is the opening of the doorway to this band's bright and coming future, we can only hope for what life will be when we cross the threshold.
