Album Review
Enchantment were one of the very last "sweet soul" groups of the '70s to reach fruition and chart success. Not slick enough to be dubbed "urban contemporary," they offered a polished take on the early '70s soul of Motown (especially the Temptations and Marvin Gaye) and Philly (the O'Jays, particularly on the more uptempo numbers). Indeed, by the time of their first hits in 1976, the disco boom was already making them sound a bit like an anachronism. This has 14 cuts from 1976-79, including the hits "Gloria," "If You're Ready," "It's You That I Need," and "Sunshine," as well as a bunch of LP tracks.

Classic..Classic..Classic
by MiuZik PheenI grew up listening to this group and started hearig them on the radio recently. This kind of music is always in style. Sunshine and Gloria are my all-time favs. I look forward to listening to some of the not so familiar ones. Buy this album for you and your kids...teach them what real music sounds like.
The Best of the Enchantments
by jaydee47What can you say. With sounds like Sunshine and Gloria the Enchantments to me rank right up there with the Temptations, The Dells, The Delfonics. They have a blend of all of the 70 groups. I particularly like "Sunshine". Being a old school fan, When ever I put together some old school cd's for some friends, I make sure that The Enchantments are on it.
