Probably my favorite Cypress Hill Album

by GK Wilshire

Cypress Hill are one of the greatest groups in hip hop, we all know this. What makes them amazing like other groups such as Wu-Tang or MC's like KRS-One who started their run during the golden age of hip hop is that they have managed to weather the storm and change that has come to hip-hop while keeping their own unique style, feel, and while adapting to the better things that have come along. This album is a perfect example. While it might be one of their earlier albums if you listen to all their music then this just shows you how they can chage it up. As opposed to some other Cypress Hill albums, especially Black Sunday, which are boombastic and in your face, III: Temple's of Boom is smoother and more about flows, but still retains what everyone likes about Cypress Hill, the aggressive yet extremely skilled and executed lyrics accompanied by the always fantastic beats. I also find the some of the beats to be a bit more funky and soft at some points but with that same malevolent undertones everyone loves about this group. In an age where mainstream hip hop is thought of as good music and unless your a hip hop head and listen to underground and music like this has been all but forgetten then this is just another great way to get your hip hop fix. Favorite track is Killafornia.

yes...indeed cypress hill kicks another a*s with temples of boom...and yet
if you notice such a horrible band Fall Out Boy stole the lyrics of 'Throw Your Set in the Air" for a little whiny song called
"Coffee's for Closers" (they only changed "throw your SET in to the air" to "throw you CAMERAS in the air" and FOB also
stole "and wave 'em like you just dont care"
...i bet Cypress Hill isn't pleased about THIS !!!

get zuited ta this !

In my opinion, this is the best Cypress album to ever hit the shelf ! You can just twist one up and push play on this and vibe through the whole disk without having to ever skip a track. Definitely reccomend adding this to your library if you dont have it already. I got this album the day it was released and got the cover autographed by B-Real, Muggs, and Bobo. It's one of my prized possesions !

Cypress Hill were notable for being the first Latino hip-hop superstars, but they became notorious for their endorsement of marijuana, which actually isn't a trivial thing. Not only did the group campaign for its legalization, but their slow, rolling bass-and-drum loops pioneered a new, stoned funk that...
