Brilliant Soundtrack

This spundtrack is very typical of Glass, who always throws a crazy and beautiful violin solo or soli into his works. The main titles (The Illusionist) is much more descriptive of the movie than any of the other pieces, but they are all really good, especially if you have seen the movie, which is full of twists, with a surprising ending. The pieces are mostly strings, constantly switching from minor to major keys, and all in all, it is very dark but uplifting. I highly reccommend it!!!

philip glass is phenomenal!!! a wonderful brilliant soundtrack

This soundtrack goes amazingly well with the film. I absolutely love how Philip glass used the Czech Orchestra to put together these amazing sounds to coincide with the scenes. The music truly brings you back to the movie and is magnificent. The wonderful tunes filled with violins, chellos, harpsicords, etc. Masterful.

Music suited to a wonderful movie

In many cases it's the music that brings a jolt of life to the movie. This is no exception. The Illusionist captivated me with the intrigue, usage of camera, and of course the music. The orchestrations of Philip Glass sets the tone for this period piece; creating mystery and wonder around every corner. From the opening title song to the finale, this soundtrack rings true from beginning to end.
