A Complete Album
Ben's new album is genuine, heartfelt, upbeat and tender. His lyrics are strong, telling rich and meaningful stories; the back-up music does what it should do (rounding-out and holding the stories together). This CD shows Ben at his musical confidence and maturity. You will be moved.
Fantastic
A great mix of musical talent... An amazing storyteller...you can picture the story in your mind like a movie as you listen to each lyric!
my new favorite....
Even on the first listen, this album left me with at least two "I LOVE that song's!". That's pretty rare...I usually have to listen to an album a few times, let it grow on me....
I am someone who feels good lyrics are important, enjoys the meaningful, the thought-provoking and the fun ones. The music is just as important to me, and most often I find that artists typically do well with either one or the other -- sometimes they'll get lucky and hit both with a song or two on one album. I was thoroughly pleased to find that my desires for both were met here on every song.
From the very first song in, my 8 y.o. was bopping in the back seat of the car to it(so it's family friendly, folks who know me know I am a stickler for that!), and disappointed when we got out, asking me to take it in the house to continue playing the album. My personal favorite on the album is "i'm just the same as i was," the lyrics sweet and thought-provoking, the music so good that I can't get the darn thing out of my head (though I am not sure I want to!). My next favorites, in order are "after all" and "be the change," then "my life 2.0" but really after that it is hard to choose -- but no worries, I will just give this album a heavy rotation in my listening mix and enjoy them all!
