FOR ALL WHO DON'T THINK STACIE IS BEING "CHRISTIAN."
I think you'd be surprised how much she probably has to do because of her contract and not necessarily because she wants to. I mean, everyone has a studio enhanced voice... You don't always hit every note just right and adding effects makes it sound richer and such. (I've to know this from doing recordings myself). Notice the word is ENHANCE not CHANGE.
And she's not going secular. Just because this song may be about feelings about an ex-boyfriend doesn't mean she's not a Christian. Christians have crushes too, don't ya know? If you check out songs on her past CD, "Stuck," you'll see that the song "Stuck" is about a boy, but there are so many others that have great messages that are about GOD. She even says Jesus' name in one of them if that will make you feel better. :D
My friend's dad met once on an airplane and she overheard him talking to someone about Jesus, and she looked back and said, "You might need this," and handed him a Bible. So you think she's not Christian enough to use a Bible in public? Obviously, she's not ashamed of her faith and hasn't given it up.
Proud of Stacie
As Stacie's cousin I am very proud of her. Stacie is such an amazing and loving person who is devoted to her faith and family. It makes me sad to hear "Christians" be so judgemental. It seems that some people assume that dressing fashionably equates to promiscuity and selling out. Branching out is not the same as selling out. Stacie is a very normal twenty year old and I do not see how her dressing in popular fashions makes her any less Christian. It is very probable that the fans she gains in the secular market will explore her religious music. We all have our role in God's plan and we all reach people in different ways. It is easy to say things as though we know those in the public eye. I respect Stacie for evolving as an artist and as a person. Please be respectful.
GREAT POP STAR - BUT "CHRISTIAN"???
I like how this "Christian" star is showing some cleavage in her sexy pose on the album cover. I'm a Christian, and I love as the Bible says "Psalms and Hymns and Spiritual Songs" but I also know that good Pop is entertainment - not worshipful.
That said, Stacie Orrico is a very good pop star, like Britney or Christina; in fact she has a better voice than Britney, and this new album is produced well. But don't fool yourself into thinking there's anything "Christian" about any of it other than the fact they slap the "Christian" label onto her stuff to sell more, since they still aren't where they want her to be with secular sales yet. This album may be her cross-over from Christian Contemporary to Secular Pop, because it's adequately veiling the references to God and/or Christ by being intentionally ambiguous in the lyrics (i.e. is she singing about loving God/Jesus? Or loving some boyfriend? Or husband??)
Anyway, I'm getting this one, it's good anyway.
