If Meshuggah and Pink Floyd had a baby...it would sound like this.
Heavy groove meets melodic soundscape. This is amazing stuff. Great production accompanied by elite musicianship. 17 years ago Meshuggah blew my mind and I've been waiting for the creative aftershock to follow ever since. Chimp Spanner is part of that groundbreaking, earth shattering epicenter that Meshuggah caused. If you dig Animals As Leaders or Periphery, this is for you. Love it.

I stumbled upon Chimp Spanner three weeks ago - - and I've listened to both albums constantly!! This is GREATNESS!!
Amazing Solo Album!
This is an amazing solo album from Paul Ortiz who goes under the name of Chimp Spanner! This is more towards progressive metal than his second album "At the Dreamer's Edge" and equally as awesome. He plays everything from electronic percussion to crazy 8 stringed guitars and bass with amazing rifting and grooves. "Clarity and Chaos", "Smiles and Cries", and "The Last Day" are my favorite tracks! This is definitely for fans of Animals as Leaders, Tesseract, and Periphery. If you're into Scale the Summit you'll also appreciate Paul's guitar work. Don't be left in the dark like many in the US and check out the latest craze in the UK! \m/
