Worth the wait
Yes, I am a Josh fan. Yes, I think Josh can do no wrong. And yes, I think Josh would probably sound better off key than a lot of other artists already out there. So aside from that, this cd was definitely worth the wait. You can hear how Josh has grown and if you have the chance to watch the "Making of Awake" dvd, you see how open he is to anything and everything. Which allows him to make such great music. So how do the songs add up in my opinion?
Mai 5/5 - great opening song
You Are Loved 5/5 - Beautiful, even if it is a little cheesy
Un Dia Llegara 5/5 - sung not in english - need I say more ;)
February Song 5/5 - the high notes just hit you
L'Ultima Notte 5/5 - classic Josh
So She Dances 3/5 - this is my least favorite Josh song to date
In Her Eyes 4/5 - it's alright, but those high notes just get me
Now of Never 8/5 - yes an 8. Incredible
UnFiorno Per Noi 5/5 - lay back turn up the volume and just listen
Lullaby 5/5 - a nice take on a classic song with Ladysmith influences
Weeping 4/5 - definitely a different flavor
Machine 3/5 - this sounds a little too John Tesh for my tastes, but hey, it might grow on me
Verita 5/5 - breathtaking! definitely get the bonus songs
Awake 8/5 - another 8. This is in my opinion the best song on the cd. GET IT!!
Smile 5/5 - this is a bonus on the special internet addition and is worth the price paid.

Progressive Josh!
This wonderful new album from Josh Groban is quite possibly his best yet! It mixes his older, more classical themed songs ("Mai", "L'Ultima Notte", and "Verita" are among the best) with a wonderful new side of Josh with some driving pop songs such as the hit "You Are Loved (Don't Give Up)", "So She Dances" and the suprising "Machine". Josh also draws inspiration from recent visits to Africa, in "Lullaby" and "Weeping", both of which include the timelss Ladysmith Black Mambazo! Definately a fabulous addition to any music lover's collection!
