Good album overall

These guys are friends with one of my friends, who told me to check the CD out. I don't live near them, so I decided to buy the cd from Itunes. For a first cd, I would say that this isn't the magnum opus that bands that they are influenced by have released as their premier albums, but it is decent. There is a lot of influence from older hopesfall, cave in, and certain melodies remind me of less technical versions of Shai Hulud's first full length cd. I don't really hear much of the 7 Angels influence like they mention on their website, but there are a few times where you can feel that rythmic, melodic vibe they have going.

My favorite song on the cd is Track 3, Perspective Meets Pavement. One thing I like about this song, and the cd in general is that each song has so much going on in it. So many parts, drum things, guitar transitions, etc. They definitely have captured a metal/hardcore feel. The group vocals capture that hardcore sing-a-long vibe that is lost in a lot of newer music today. I wish that they made more of a decision though, either be more metal, or be more of a hardcore band.

I have 2 issues with the cd. The first is that the mixing could have been better. I think there are supposed to be 2 guitars, but sometimes one side is a lot louder than the other one. I don't care about the polish, but if you are going to be showcasing 2 guitars, i would like to hear each one equally. Secondly, I think that the songs could be a little shorter overall. Some songs are fantastic at their length, and every part fits perfectly. Certain songs drag on at times, such as track 8, but I got bored and flipped ahead.

TLDR: Overall, solid first album.
