Awesome album by a great talent!
I downloaded this album several months ago from another site and it is still one of the most played on my I-Pod. And, the beauty of it, is that there is no weak track. The originals stand up to, and maybe even surpass, the standards covered on the album. Her take on THe Very Thought of you is fresh and cool, but the power and assertiveness of When You're Out Tonight or I'm Not Blind, or the languid beauty of I'm Still Falling, the plaintiff yearning of the title track, are fresh and timeless at the same time. Everytime I play this album (which is alot), and you do have to play the whole album every time because its that good, I either want to grab my wife and dance or grab a scotch and a Macanudo and just sink into the groove. Much to my shame, I live in the same state as this wonderful singer and I have yet to see her live; something I hope to remedy soon. Until then, has anyone seen my lighter?
In the Morning
I've followed Cami and her band on the local Oklahoma City music scene. She is original, unique and has a voice like an angel. Her lyrics speak right to the heart while the music mesmerizes the soul. "My Favorite Place" and "When You're Out Tonight" are my toe tapping favorites. Come on Cami, please give us another CD soon!
In the Morning
This is the coolest and smoothest, sultry jazz in iTunes. Nora Jones better watch out... Cami is in the house! This CD is permanently stuck in my single disc auto player. I can't wait for the next CD... Cami, PLEASE don't let it be toooooo long!
