iTunes Review

Disturbed's fourth studio album begins forebodingly with an apocalyptic air-raid siren akin to Black Sabbath's "War Pigs," but where "War Pigs" rails against waging war, the title track here punches with prideful fighting lyrics that almost sound tailor-made for a military recruiting commercial. Those hardcore metal fans who have previously turned their noses up at Disturbed for not sounding heavy enough (or for being too melodic) may be pleasantly surprised at Indestructible's more virulent playing and conceptual songwriting, which is not to say that the chorus on "Inside The Fire" isn't as catchy as the song is brutal. David Draiman sings and screams like a man possessed as his lyrics reveal a dramatic narrative about someone who can only become reunited with his suicidal lover's soul by taking his own life to join her in the fiery cantos of hell. The Bonus Track version comes garnished with three songs recorded from Disturbed's live performance on December 17, 2005 at Chicago's Riviera Thrature; "Stricken," "Down With The Sickness," and "Just Stop" all sound much more raw and explosive sans studio production.

Weak middle

by paraparkfan

The albums intro is great, with apocolyptic sirens and gunfire, and the first 3 songs are awesome. But starting at 'The Night' the album starts to go downhill. Until rescued with the 2 ending tracks, both amazing songs.

1.Indestructible: Great intro and awesome guitar riff. 5/5
2.Inside the Fire: Best Disturbed song of all time and most played song in my library. 7/5
3.Deciever: The best part to this song is the start. 4.5/5
4.The Night: great solo, but too long and gets boring. 4/5
5.Perfect Insanity: way better than the original bversion. 4.5/5
6.Haunted: Love the intro and lyrics. 4.5/5
7.Enough: Boring. 3.5/5
8.The Curse: Somewhat different from the other songs, unsatisfying. 3/5
9.Torn: Good start, but weak afterwords.3/5
10.Criminal: It sounds like he's hiccuping at the start and really isn't good. 2/5
11.Divide: Resuces the album. Amazing, heavy, just awesome. 5/5
12.Facade: Best nonsingle on the album, love it. 5/5

The album gets tiresome if listened all the way through, I'd skip songs 7-10 personally so as to trim it down and make it a more enjoyable listen.
