Album Review
An infectious update of the classic synth-pop most famous earlier in the decade, Information Society's self-titled debut sounds most similar to British groups like ABC and Pet Shop Boys, though hits like "What's on Your Mind," "Walking Away," and the cover of "Lay All Your Love on Me" manage to inject the affair with elements of industrial dance and hip-hop. All in all, it's a much better album than expected from the group many dismissed as mere one-hit wonders.
Customer Reviews
c'mon....
Why is Funky at 45 the hardest song on the planet to find? Just release the whole album, already!
"What's On Your Mind?"
The "Original" recording Opened with STAR TREK's DeForest Kelly ("It's worked so far, but were not out yet!")
I bought this, as a SINGLE, DECADES ago, when RECORD STORES were still the norm (Does anybody still remember them...?)
Back then, they experimented around with "Music Kiosks", so I created a "CUSTOM CASSETTE", for my WALKMAN!
("Side-A" had the ORIGINAL recording, of "What's On Your Mind? (Pure Energy)", followed by Allanah Myles' "Black Velvet" • "Side-B" would have ONLY ONE song: Was (Not Was) "Walk the Dinosaur" — don't ask me "why?")
All-in-all, these songs are from my youth — I'd like to thank iTunes, for letting me re-live my youth — these songs have gotten better with age!
...Why can't music — TODAY — be MORE like it was, BACK THEN...?
What's on your mind
Its been a long time since I heard the song. It wasn't till yesterday that I heard it on the radio. Man great memories came to mind when I listened to it. (1993-1996, and 2007)
