Page's commanding soundscapes will take your breath away
A fine album of solo piano originals, each track an individual experience, which at first could be overwhelming. Yet Page's fundamental skill is apparent: the capacity to pen accessible, heart-touching melodies and perform them with conviction, spirit, and sincerity. While tailored for Page's more discerning (intelligent, if you will) fans, one finds the album thought-provoking even for the most simple among us. The highlights of Interludes are found in its dynamic quatrain of poetic interludes, two of which ("Interlude II," "Interlude IV") have softly pounded their way into the hearts and minds of many loyalists. Here's hoping that the commanding bravura that guides Page's work will find its way into the studio for future projects.
So Moving....
The first I heard Micah's Interludes CD, I found my thoughts dancing to an autumn wind just outside my living room window. In that light of a very dark evening, I watched and listened as the piano notes transported me to places ...places that opened up inside me revealing over due, lonely blooms of beauty. So YES, I highly recommend this one!
